Now you have your DJ name and the open ended DJ drop loaded into Audacity, you’re almost done. #6 Position Your DJ Name In The Right Place You’ll now be left with just the take you wanted, perfect. Go to Edit -> Remove Special -> Trim Audio Once you have the part highlighted, you need to trim the rest. Remember, you’re selecting the one you want, the others will be deleted in the next step. First I click the selection tool (shortcut “F”) then I select the voice over take I want to keep. I’m going to pick the second take out of the four I had the voice over artist record. If this is the case – like mine above – all you’ll need to do is pick the best sounding one out of the different versions the voice over artist recorded for you and trim the others away. Some times the voice over that records your DJ name will record a few versions on the same MP3 file. If your custom DJ name file has only one take on it (it just says your DJ name once) then you can skip this part. If you go to view -> zoom you can adjust the screen. My computer screen is pretty small, so that’s why the two audio files are zoomed in so much! Audacity will now load this file into the multi-track editor and it will appear below the open ended DJ drop you just imported in step 3.
Then select your DJ name mp3 file and click open. Now the open ended DJ drop has been loaded into Audacity, your custom dj name voice over also needs to be imported in the same way.
